    POSITION DESCRIPTION: The program manager of the Immune Effector Cell Therapy program has leadership responsibility for clinical, programmatic and operational aspects of the CAR-T program at Smilow Cancer Hospital;  In collaboration with the Director of the program, the CAR-T steering committee and other constituents, the incumbent  will ensure an orderly and safe process for evaluation, treatment and follow up for patients undergoing this therapy. The Manager is an experienced clinical program leader who will play a lead role in the continuing development of the engineered cell therapy practice; this will include understanding and developing methods to establish patient safety and practice standards, address patient and other stakeholder needs, monitor and improve practice quality, standards, and reliability, and creatively innovate in the delivery and refinement of engineered cell therapy practice at a world-class cancer center as these therapies continue to emerge as clinical trials and as they transition to FDA approved standard of care.

    Responsibilities

    • 1. Develop collaborative work processes to ensure appropriate planning and tracking CAR-T patients through the Smilow system.
    • 2. Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop workflow and communication pathways among all constituents-inpatient, outpatient, apheresis, cell processing
    • 3. Work with research teams on protocol development and execution.
    • 4. Serve as a member of the CAR-T steering committee
    • 5. Develop patient education materials to ensure patient/family understanding of the therapy.
    • 6. Develop and execute staff and clinician education around the CAR-T protocols and therapies
      • 6.1 provide overview and product specific education
    • 7. Clinical responsibilities:
      • 7.1 Round with inpatient teams
    • 8. Quality/SOP development:
      • 8.1 Tracks quality and safety outcomes associated with the CAR-T therapies

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION

     

    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Health Administration, Public Health or related field.

    Master's Degree or higher preferred

    Advanced Degree required; preference for APP certification in CT.

     

    EXPERIENCE

     

    Experience in oncology required; preference for experience in BMT or other Cell therapies; management experience preferred

    LICENSURE

     

    R.N. with active CT licensure (preferred).  Board certification as an APP preferred.
